Barbeerians Nab Anchor Homebrew Club of the Year Trophy! Above, Santa Barbeerians president Bob G returns the empty Anchor trophy box to unsuspecting Bay Area mashers, who moments before were blissfully drinking from the coveted copper chalice. San Francisco, February 2010. For immediate release. The Santa Barbeerians, a homebrew club and community service organization located in Santa Barbara, California, has cemented itself as a club to be reckoned with by nabbing the coveted Anchor Homebrew club of the year trophy. The Barbeerians did not actually win the trophy per se. Rather, in true barbeerian tradition, and with a nod to its barbarian roots, the club managed to raid the award ceremony and relieve the purported owners of their shortly held award. Fueled by copious quantities of freshly brewed Old Foghorn, club president Bob G managed to nab the trophy box while president of vices Jerry M created a diversion, and wife of JM looked on in disbelief. The box was quickly emptied of its precious contents before being returned good naturedly to the grateful bay area mashers. |
